What are the chances you know turning radius - single vs, tandem axle?

This photo is proof. T660 tandem bobtail right side figures. Left w/loaded trailer. The trailer weight moves the C.G bogie back to almost match the single axle T270, middle.

The fwd rear weighs more because of the power divider. It’s a bit over 200 lbs heavier, therefore when turning, the pivot point, which you would think would be bogie, is the fwd drive, so with a 52” spread, that effectively shortens the w.b. by 26” with no load. This is why the rear rear axle eats tires faster than the fwd rear. Think what a 60" spread would do.

When a driver reports the chassis turns significantly sharper without a load, believe them. They know what they are talking about.
