How well do you know Amboid, Hypoid and Spiral gears and why this is important when specing. Socrates: It’s not what you know, it’s what you don't. The WHY Is WISDOM.
Perception has it that Cross/Diff locks can be added to one or both axles after the chassis is built, but this is not the case with Amboids. If the sales tool only allows a locker in the fwd drive, but not the rear, understand it can't be added later. Changing the whole axle assy is required, not just changing the pumpkin/diff. Can you tell what this axle is?
Consider when specing stock trucks since it reduces flexibility. Hypoid and Spiral lockers can be added in either or both axles later.
If adding a locker/s in a tractor, make sure you add the disengage ATC switch. With the axle/s locked, ATC will fight this condition and derate the engine after timing out.

Hope everyone sees the advantage of understanding how trucks and their components are designed and the result of selecting codes that may not be fully understood for the application. Life after the first owner should always be a consideration.
Most every salesperson can spec 95% and get it right, it’s the last % that sets the good ones apart. We make trucks better, one spec at a time. Thanks to those who have reached out to make a difference. zFactor shares what we know to enhance the customer and dealers’ bottom line.
We make a difference in 500+ spec’s this year. No one does what we do, and the reason we started zFactor over 10 years ago. Truck education is our passion. We have Grit.
