CNG options to consider
Some tank suppliers could benefit from a custom frame drilling, (charged for each chassis). Locating A&E lines back 41 – 51” with cabinets is must. Brushless alternators are also required for safety. In the cab batteries with saddle tanks (horizontal frame/rail mount). Jump start terminals BOC/S, not under hood. With cabinets, don’t order slide bar for trailer connections. Lights on the BOC/S will be blocked if this is a cabinet installation, you might go with switch and wiring only. Don’t order a bunch of gauges if the body builder will add a Methane detector, which is not required with CNG, but is with LNG tanks. Reason, CNG has Mercaptan (smells), but LNG doesn’t (too cold). Make sure you arrange a PDI.

Cummins and natural gas
Make sure you know your Cummins Rep who is knowledgeable about CNG/LNG. Use a calculator to determine the proper gearing which takes the natural gas engines into account. RPM operating ranges for gas is different than diesel.
