Review the chart to see where the common configurations fall. 102 inches is the legal maximum width for State and Federal roadways. Anything wider could certainly catch the eye of a DOT inspector, but your Curb to Curb/Wall to Wall is definitely improved with the wider widths, especially on set-forward axles. Note the appearance column if you're not familiar with the term offset as used here. Many Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs - that's truck builders to most of us) use differing terms: offset, inset, outset. Just know that narrower track is achieved with a shallower dish on the wheel, then determine what it is you're trying to accomplish and what the result will be. How about this chart? SHOUT OUT to Gary.. he's learning Excel. Cindi (Ms. V)  added the colors. All the uncolored rows are under legal road width. Blue is marginal, and yellow.. yup, caution -it's in the danger zone.
