OEs frequently build vehicles with studs just long enough to support the configuration on order. If you are utilizing the configure to order new truck build process, the most versatile vehicle will be one with increased wheel stud length. The manufacturer charges very little for this option, yet it is fairly expensive to modify after the truck is built. 



Aluminum wheels utilize thicker material than steel, so the standard steel wheel studs will have to be changed if the wheels are upgraded after build. The picture above displays steel wheels with the optional longer studs.
